Today I am feeling much better! I went to a get together with all the ladies I had prenatal yoga with and our babies! This is the second time we have got together and it is so much fun! The babies, from left to right are: Ashton, Fenton, Bria, Raydn, Hazel (mine!) and Sky! Aren't they just the most adorable little ones you have ever seen! It is super hard to get a good pictures with such little ones, but it is sure fun to try. My mother in law baby-sat Ian while I was gone and it was nice to get out of the house and have a little break! It is sad, though, that Fenton (and his mom and dad) and Sky (and his mom and dad) are moving away in the next week or so! We will miss them lots! :( This was our last get together before they both move! On a lighter note, Jeff grilled steaks and zucchini and cooked some beans and we had a WONDERFUL dinner together as a family! We had to celebrate the beautiful weather...76 in JANUARY?! Thank you God for the beautiful weather!

If anyone was wondering what our life is like on a daily basis...this is it...when it's calm! This is a picture of Jeff comforting Hazel, while working on the computer AND watching a TV show! He was getting mad at me because the camera was waking her up. I was not feeling that great today so I was lazy and let Ian watch too much TV and sat on the couch most of the day. When Jeff got home, he was really helpful and took over so I could rest. I ended up going to bed at 10:30! (That hasn't happened in a LOOOONG time!)

Today was a pretty busy day! It started with church, which we actually got to almost on time! Score one for Mommy and Daddy! Then Jeff insisted on mowing the "yard" (it's mainly weeds and dead grass) He says it makes him feel all grown up to mow the lawn. He also said that today's picture had better be of him mowing. Oh boy! I edited this picture to make sure you could actually see the grass/green weeds in the yard. Yup, its that sad! Ian and Hazel took a nap while Jeff mowed the yard. Then we went to a chili potluck at church and ate dinner with church friends! It was a lot of fun, but we were all super tired when we got home! I was actually really not feeling good and was running a fever so... early to bed!

January 28, 2012

Today was such a fun day! Not only did it start out great with everyone sleeping in, but my family came to see us! It seems like every time I talk to my family, I always ask them when they are going to come and visit! I miss them and I want to make sure they get to see as much of Ian and Hazel as possible! Ian got so spoiled today and he loved it! My mom brought him some cool board books a collection of fun, children's songs! He loves the books and I cannot wait to use the songs to sing and play with him! We went out to eat at Braum's for lunch. While everyone else ate ice cream, Ian and I split a cup of lime sherbert! That was fun! We then came back home and Ian played with blocks and books with Grandpa (or Gpa is what I like to call him), Legos with Gigi, and bowling with Aunt Vickie (did you catch the Parent Trap reference?) Hazel slept for most of the day. Yup, no more hourly feedings. I guess her growth spurt passed! After Ian's nap was officially skipped and everyone was getting hungry for dinner, we decided to try out the brand new Applebee's in Saginaw. It got our approval! Yum! This picture was taken at Applebee's. Ian got to sit in between Gigi and Gpa and that was so much fun! He had a blast wiggling and driving my dad crazy! (that's what you get for ordering BBQ ribs with a toddler in your lap!) There was a baby about Hazel's size in the booth behind us. It was so weird...they looked alike! I went over to the mom and talked with her and she noticed it too! The little girl was 7 weeks old (just a week older than Hazel) and her name was Jacie. She was so cute! They had an older daughter about the age of Ian. It was cool to talk to them and it was totally weird that our babies looked so much alike! She had just as much hair as Hazel did!

Today is Friday! I LOVE Fridays! Hazel kept up with her feeding every hour, but finally passed out for a nice long nap while Ian took his nap! I was very excited for a break! They both woke up in a great mood after Jeff got home! This is a picture of both of them on the floor of the living room. I had just changed Hazel's diaper and Ian came up and laid next to her! It was so sweet! Ian seemed pretty proud of little sister! It is going to be so much fun to see them interact as they get older! I pray they get along and are the best of friends! (The best siblings can be!)

Today was day two of Hazel eating every hour, but it has been a much less stressful day! She did actually take an afternoon nap today which let me get a little bit of a break, thank God! This picture was taken when I put Ian down for a nap. For the past couple of days I have had to put Elmo down for a nap with Ian. As you can probably see, Elmo is cuddling Pooh Bear while Ian has Tigger. I also have to tuck them both in. This is so cute I had to take a picture of it! This is totally going to be one of those pictures he is going to HATE when he becomes a teenager....I am soooo excited!

January 25, 2012

If you cannot tell from my picture, today was a pretty rough day for Mommy! This picture was taken during one of the few times Hazel was not crying. Ian had left his blocks out and I grabbed the blocks to spell "help me" as a joke to lighten the mood (its been a rough evening). Jeff thought it was so funny and grabbed the camera. He told me to give him "a look" and I kept cracking up. It was one of the moments of joy that we desperately needed this evening. I want to make it clear that I LOVE both of my children more than I can express, but the reality is that sometimes it's hard, sometimes it sucks and sometimes you have to step back and take a break. The good thing is that Ian was in a pretty good mood. Hazel, on the other hand, had a pretty rough day. She has fed every hour since 11AM. She has also been pretty fussy all day too. I really think that something I am eating is bothering her stomach. She has been spitting up and crying more. I feel so bad for her and just want to make it better. I have slowly started cutting dairy out of my diet because it seems to be one of the things that really bothers her tummy and her skin (slowly because its been hard for me to eliminate it all at once) So hopefully this will help her feel better and be a happier baby!

January 24, 2012

Today was a really lazy day. I stayed up way too late last night working on Ian's felt board that I was exhausted. We were pretty lazy all day. Ian now intently watches Sesame Street every day at 11. I'm not a big fan of him watching TV, but I enjoy the break and it is educational so I don't feel as bad. Ian and Hazel did not take a nap at the same time today. I put Ian down for a nap and fed/comforted/cuddled with Hazel. The moment after she fell asleep and I got up to put her down...I mean THE EXACT MOMENT...Ian woke up from his nap. Oh well, the life of a stay-at-home mom of two little ones. So Ian and I played with his felt board and I made a few more vegetables for it. This picture was taken this evening. We were sitting in the middle of the living room floor (which is STILL clean!) reading! These peekaboo books are his favorite! He reads them every day!

January 23, 2012

Today was a pretty great day, especially considering it is a Monday (and Mondays are usually hard!) Hazel slept in so Ian and I ate breakfast together. Hazel and Ian both took a nap at the same time (yes!) So I got to work on patterns for a felt board I am making for Ian. About the time Jeff got home we had Shelley, a family friend, come over to bring us food, bring Hazel a gift and of course see Hazel! She brought wonderful yummy eggplant/chicken/pasta parmesan! Then Ian and I went on a Mommy/son date to Hobby Lobby to pick up stuff to make his felt board. It was the first time I have left Hazel, but it was with Dad so it wasn't that big of a deal. When Ian and I got home Jeff's parents and sister were over to visit and finally open Anna's Christmas present. After the kids were asleep, Jeff and I got to relax and do what we want. I was able to make Ian's felt board! This picture is of me and the final product! I figured this is a great way for him to learn letters, numbers, colors, shapes, animals, fruits, vegetables, and the list goes on and on...I am so excited to show him it tomorrow! I also took pictures along the way and will be doing a how-to blog post on my grace.faith.dirt blog!

January 22, 2012

Today was an interesting day. We planned our entire day around going to the Fort Worth Stock Show and after getting the entire family fed, happy and packed in the car...well, lets just say it was an epic fail and we did not make it. Nothing catastrophic happened, it was just a series of unfortunate events (not as unfortunate as those books though!) So we headed back home and made a relaxing day out of it! (Which was awesome!) This evening we had our neighborhood group over at our house. This was the first one at our house and it was really cool to  be the host (plus it makes us keep our house clean!) We then watched the 49ers lose to the NY Giants in overtime (Ugh!) to make the Superbowl match up the Patriots vs Giants...two teams I could REALLY care less about! This pictures is inspired by a thing my dad and I saw on The Today Show where a lady takes pictures of her sleeping baby in different scenes. I thought the idea was so cool I had to try it! This was our first attempt, but I will be trying more creative scenes soon! Here is a link to the article and some of her pictures from her book called When My Baby Dreams. I totally wish I could have thought of this first, but oh well!

Who doesn't love a Saturday at home...cleaning...all...day...long! I DON'T! Today was cleaning day because the house has been a wreck since Hazel was born, well actually since my mom left. She was able to control the mess, but Jeff and I just were not able to keep the house clean while keeping up with Ian and Hazel. It did feel great to finally look at a nice, clean house instead of couches covered in clothes, sinks full of dishes and trash cans overflowing! In celebration of our cleaning success, Jeff grilled some ribs and zucchini! It was wonderful! This picture has a story behind it. Lately while I'm in the kitchen and leave the pantry door open, Ian runs in and shuts the door behind him. He locks himself in the pantry, with no light and no way to get out. It is very funny and he doesn't get scared, but instead giggles when we finally let him out. He did that this evening while dinner was cooking. I left him in there long enough to go get the camera and set up for the picture and he still came out smiling! Crazy kid!

Today was a relatively relaxing day! Besides the fact that it is Friday, both babies took a nap at the same time and gave me a little break to relax! It was wonderful! After Jeff got home he took care of Hazel for a while and I got to hang out with Ian, just me and him! This picture is of us watching TV. I'm pretty sure we were watching Kitchen Nightmares. Ian has just recently become interested in watching TV so we have to really start monitoring what we watch, and how much. It was nice to just sit on the couch and cuddle with Ian. He's getting so grown up that it doesn't happen as often anymore!

I think God knew I could not handle another day like yesterday and gave me a wonderful, relaxing day with the babies (yes, my 20 month old is still a baby to me!) Both Ian and Hazel took a good three hour nap today...at the same time! This gave me a chance to relax, waste some time on Pinterest and start to write Hazel's birth story! It was such a beautiful day outside that when Jeff got home we decided to go to the park and take a walk. It was so relaxing and Ian was so cute walking hand-in-hand with Jeff! During our walk was when this picture was taken. The sun was setting and the sky looked beautiful!

Today Miss Hazel turns ONE MONTH OLD! Oh my goodness, how time flies! Hazel slept from 10PM-6AM for us last night! It was wonderful, but when she woke up this morning she was pretty grumpy and upset. She stayed that way for a LONG time and it was a really tough morning. Jeff had to take the big car because we seemed to have misplaced (hopefully not permanently) the keys to the Beetle and I was supposed to have a mommy date with my fellow yoga mommies! After the roughest morning ever, I called Jeff to come rescue me and being the wonderful husband he is willingly came home from work, took care of Ian and let me go to my mommy get-together. He's wonderful. The get together was so much fun! I got to see everyone's baby. I am not going to lie, I haven't seen a better looking group of babies...ever! Hazel and I had a great time! What better way to celebrate being one month old that to hang with other babies! This picture was taken after I got home. This outfit is one that Jillian got Hazel and I was so excited that it fit because it is sooooo cute! Happy one month birthday sweet baby girl!

January 17, 2012

Today was the day of blow-out poops...hence the post bath time picture! Today was an overall pretty good day. Hazel was pretty fussy between breakfast and lunch (which was when BOTH blow outs happened...and might have been the reason for the fussiness) This picture was taken this morning after blow out #2. We recovers successfully from blow out #1 with out a bath, but didn't come away so lucky the second time! Today we started really trying to figure out her baby acne/eczema/beginning cradle cap! Got lots of advice from people and have been trying coconut oil, washing her face with just baby soap, breastmilk and a baby eczema cream by BabyGanics that we got at Babies R Us. It seems to be helping, but it is still really bad. I'm it might be a reaction to dairy and I might have to cut it out of my diet. We both had trouble with dairy when she was first born, but I thought it got better. We also started using her gDiapers today! She grew out of her newborn diapers so we had to move on. The gDiapers fit GREAT and I LOVE them! They contain messes better than disposables (go figure!) and they look so adorable! I'm going to go get more as soon as I can (two is just not enough!) The great thing is that the small Fuzzibunz inserts fit perfectly! The day went so well that we braved the outside and went to Logans...as a family...for the first time! We were scared, but it actually went pretty well! Hazel let us eat our food and Ian behaved himself very well! Its not something I want to do on a regular basis, but was fun tonight. (except for the part where we think we lost the key to the beetle somewhere in the restaurant!)

Today, being MLK Day was a Monday off for Jeff (and I LIVE for these days off!) We did some shopping today that had to get done because I am sure not going to go by myself with both kids in tow! (How crazy do I look...don't answer that!) Hazel has grown out of her newborn cloth diapers so we had to get her bigger diapers! She is growing way too fast! This picture was taken this evening. Hazel is her first dress (its 3mo size!) and Ian in his new clothes from Jillian! Every time Ian holds Hazel he has to point out all her body parts. Its pretty cute!

January 15, 2012

Today was Sunday so we obviously went to church. We have yet to make it on time since Hazel's been born...all two times we have gone! Everybody ooo-ed and ahh-ed over her and that is always fun! Jeff said he got a few compliments about the family! I thought that was very neat! Our pastor, Frank says he enjoys watching our family because of how fun and crazy it looks. Oh, how right he is! It seems like everywhere we go we get lots of looks with our toddler and newborn (and we aren't too old ourselves) Its always good for a laugh! This picture was while Ian and I were playing. I was attempting to bowl with him with his new bowling pins he got for Christmas, but he wanted to sit in the box instead! He KNEW he was cute sitting in that box!

Today was such a fun, beautiful day! One of the best Saturdays I have had in while. It was nice enough outside for Ian and I to play in the backyard with Titan for a while (we left Daddy and Hazel inside to have some father-daughter time) All three of us had a great time outside! In this picture Ian is showing me where Titan's ear is! In the afternoon my long-time friend from middle school and high school and her boyfriend (also named Jeff) came to visit! We sat and chatted for a long time while both babies slept....yes, you read that right, BOTH Ian and Hazel were asleep at the same time! They brought presents for both Ian and Hazel! Jillian picked out the most ADORABLE clothes for both of them and I cannot wait to dress them in their new outfits! On top of all the spoiling that she did, she cooked us dinner! They cooked these wonderful Italian nachos that were oh, so yummy! It was sooooo wonderful to see them again and it really makes me miss seeing Jillian (and her Jeff) and her family! I know it is one picture a day, but today was so good that I thought that two pictures was appropriate! All in all, WONDERFUL day!

Today was a pretty good day! It was the first day that I really felt completely confident that I can do this whole "mommy of two" thing which made me feel great! It might have helped that it was Friday and it is a long weekend! This picture was taken late tonight right after I got done feeding Hazel and we were ready for bed. Yes, we look tired because we are tired! I said I feel confident in being a mommy of two, but I never said it wasn't exhausting! But my days feel less chaotic and our nights are feeling a little more relaxing. I think we are finally getting into a routine!

January 12, 2012

Today was a pretty exciting day for us! Today was the first day I dared going out somewhere with both kids! I have been very nervous about doing this, but the fact that we had NO breakfast food in the house prompted this outing. By the time that Ian woke up and I got them both dressed and ready to go, it was no longer breakfast time, but lunch time. I piled the kids in the car and headed to Taco Bell where they promptly broke my heart by telling me they no longer had my favorite thing! (Chicken flatbread) So I went to Panda Express (drive thru) and quickly went home as Hazel was in a panic! This is a picture of Ian trying to unbuckle Hazel after we got home. He decided it was time for her to get out of the car seat. The rest of the day was boring and uneventful. When Jeff got home, he played with Hazel and then they both took a nap leaving Ian and I to fend for ourselves for the evening. It was actually kinda nice to spend some uninterrupted time with Ian though.

January 11, 2012

Oh man! Today was a super lazy day for the Lamoureux family! Hazel and I spent most of the day together since Ian slept in until 12:45PM!! He must have been super tired! It was nice to have some Hazel/Mommy cuddle time, but I was beginning to miss my Ian! When he did finally wake up he was super clingy and was super cute! Hazel and I stopped by the church tonight for youth to show off Baby Hazel. That was fun and everyone "ooo-ed" and "aww-ed" over her! (I love that!) This picture was taken this evening during tummy time. Miss Hazel was very awake and seems to love tummy time...in small doses!

I am not going to lie, today has been a really good day! Hazel slept enough today for Ian and I have some quality block building/destruction time. Then Ian napped really well so Hazel and I could have some cuddle time. This picture is of Ian and Jeff cooking a bean soup that we had for dinner, and no I did not plan on Jeff and Ian matching today. I didn't even see what Jeff was wearing before he left the house, the matching just happened! Ian insisted on helping cook and was very upset when we had to cover the pot and let it cook! It was super cute! Ian loved the soup and ate a bowl full...I guess he likes his own cooking!

This picture is not the best, but the moment was really cute! Today was a crazy Monday...as well as very rainy and cold. The kids were actually kind to me today and didn't cause me to go completely crazy! This picture was taken in the evening. We were giving Hazel some tummy time on her new playmat and Ian came over and laid next to her on the mat. It was really cute. When she started crying, he was right there to pat her tummy and help her stop crying. It was so sweet! He is such a good big brother and I cannot wait to see them really interact!

Today Baby Hazel is three weeks old! I cannot even believe it has already been six weeks since she was born! So in celebration of her first three weeks, today's picture had to be of her! We all had a really busy day today! We got to show her off at church and neighborhood group today which was fun, but the majority of the day was spent sitting on the couch watching football at the in-laws while Jeff and his dad worked on the VW Beetle! This picture was taken at Jeff's parent's house while watching the Broncos and Steelers game!

January 7, 2012

Today was a pretty lazy Saturday...well as lazy as a day can be with a newborn and a toddler. I did not take very many pictures today, but saw this sweet moment and couldn't help myself! I walked out of the bathroom and found Jeff kneeling on the floor over our bed looking at Hazel and Hazel being completely content in Daddy's arms. I asked Jeff what he was doing and his answer gave me a huge smile. He said, "Just looking at our beautiful baby girl" How sweet is that! Jeff is pretty much the best father and husband and I am very blessed to have him!

Here is a picture of Ian playing in our backyard. Today was such a beautiful January day (true to Texas' crazy weather) that we decided to spend some time outside! I brought Hazel's swing and a chair for me outside and we watched Ian and Titan play and play! It was tons of fun, until we got hungry for lunch. When Jeff got home, Ian helped him grill ribs outside. Ian was very excited to have so much time to play outside today!

This is sweet baby Hazel (2 weeks 5 days) in one of her new onsies (my personal favorite...of course) and her adorable little leggings! I thought she looked so darn cute I had to take a picture! Yes, I admit I put a backdrop up and propped her up and posed her! :) Today was my second day at home by myself with the kiddos. Today was a lot rougher than the first. but I am feeling more confident. The funny thing is, I think my baby girl Hazel is a jealous newborn! She cries and cries when I am doing stuff with Ian! Don't get me wrong, Ian gets jealous too, but I expected that! I did not expect my newborn to be jealous of big brother! Pretty funny!

This was Jeff's first day back at work and thus my first day back as "Queen of the House"! We had a pretty good day and even had some energy to go out after Jeff got home from work. So we headed out to the mall to spend OUR Christmas money. Our plan was for Jeff to buy Skyrim and for me to buy a phone cover for my awesome new phone! We were successful, but somehow ended up at Old Navy browsing and found this awesome jacket for Jeff. It was the only one, all by itself, no price tag, but fit Jeff perfectly! It ended up being on clearance! So I bought it for him because he LOVED it and you have to admit....he looks pretty darn good in it!

January 3, 2012

Today was Jeff's last day off before he had to return to work! SAD DAY! So we spent most of the day shopping and spending our Christmas money...well actually spending the kids' Christmas money. Here we are at Babies R Us. We bought each of them a toy and one item of clothing. Ian got a cool coat and a play mixing pot full of food. Hazel got a set of long sleeve onsies and a playmat!  This is me and Hazel in her Moby. Hazel and I both LOVE the Moby Wrap! She is so comfortable and warm and I can move around and do things, but still have her close! We ran out of time at Babies R Us because Hazel and I had our two week appointment! Hazel has gained a whole pound and a half and I have lost almost 20!! She now weighs 9lbs 6oz and I weigh...20lbs less! :)

This is our beautiful baby girl Hazel. She is two weeks, one day in this picture. She is such a cuddle-bug and loves to be held! Here she is obviously peacefully sleeping in Mommy's lap! We were over at my in-laws watching the Oklahoma State University vs. Stanford. It was a really good game and to top it off Oklahoma State won in overtime!

2012 is here!

So I see a lot of my friends are participating in project 365 for the year 2012. I really had no idea what it was! I just thought it would be a lot of fun to take a picture every day for the year 2012 and post it in a blog! I am excited to look back on what happened in 2012 at the end of the year. My blog is appropriately named Lamoureux Project 366 (since it is a leap year!) I hope you enjoy my pictures as much as I love taking them! So here it goes!

January 1, 2012
Today we drove to Hillsboro to pick up Ian from my parents. He stayed a few days with them so that Jeff and I could get a little break and Ian got a little extra attention. Getting a new baby sister is hard and he needed a lot of attention that was hard to give with a brand new newborn! This was Ian's first stay away from both Mommy and Daddy! My parents said he did great, and Jeff and I survived too! This trip was also Hazel's first road trip...she slept all the way there and most of the way back! I am so blessed to have great kids!
