Today was Anna's graduation day! Since she was homeschooled, the graduation was at Jeff's parents' house. It was a fun and entertaining night with food, family and lots of picture taking. This picture is of the Lamoureux kids; David, Anna and (of course) Jeff. It was a good time. They made Anna do her "procession" over and over again because no one could find "Pomp and Circumstance" for her to march in to. Congratulations on graduating from high school, Anna. One sister down, one to go! Both our sisters graduate from high school this year!
Sometimes the call of the Mom is to do double diaper duty! This was one of those times! I had Hazel all changed and told Ian to lay next to "Baby Sister" so I could change his diaper. Every time she got a little upset (or make any noise for that matter) Ian was right there trying to give her the pacifier. It was really cute. Hazel just worships the ground Ian walks on...seriously! All Ian has to do to make her smile or giggle is to look her direction. It is so neat to see how much she loves her big brother already!
Today was such a beautiful day so we spent much of it outside. We have two of these little kiddie pools that we used for sand boxes for Ian's party. I just moved all the sand to one of them and put water in the other. Ian has a blast! I put them both in their bathing suits. Hazel thought the water was too cold, but she still enjoyed cooling off! Here is Ian splashing all the water out of the pool. It was a chore to keep water actually IN the pool.
This is a picture of Ian and Elmo in matching diapers. As I was changing Ian's diaper for nap time, he insisted that Elmo needed a diaper change as well. So I started to grab a disposable (we use them at night for Ian) and he was NOT ok with a disposable. He insisted that Elmo needed a cloth diaper just like him! For a toddler that doesn't talk, he sure communicates well!
This picture was taken on our way out of church on our way to the car. Yes, my son is a natural tree hugger! Haha! I'm not sure what he was doing, but he just plopped down by the tree and I grabbed my camera and took this picture. I thought it was cute. Yup, this was probably the most exciting thing that happened today.
Today was Ian's birthday party! We had a construction themed birthday party because Ian loves to dig, build and destroy! Basically, he is a typical boy! We put kiddie pools filled with sand outside and put dump truck toys and stuff in them to play with. His "cake" was banana bread and brownies in two dump trucks! One was sand and the other was dirt! It was hard to decide what to do with Ian not able to have dairy, but he LOVED the banana bread! This picture is of Ian with Jeff and I, about to blow out his candles! He actually blew them out!
Two years ago today I became a Mommy and started the BIGGEST, BEST adventure of my life! Today our little boy Ian turns TWO! I cannot believe he is already two! To be honest, Jeff and I shed some tears and remembered the great moments of the last two years. Our baby isn't really a baby anymore! This picture is of Jeff and Ian playing with a T-ball set Gigi got for Ian for his birthday. We had to help him until we switch around to the other side of the plate, and Mr. Lefty was able to swing all by himself! This picture was taken before we figured out he needed to bad left handed.
This picture would normally come on the 18th of the month, but May 18th is Ian's 2nd birthday so that day is kinda reserved for him. Tomorrow Hazel will be 5 months old! I cannot believe this! She is growing way too fast and soon will no longer be a baby anymore! Anyone have the secret to keeping them babies forever...I've heard not feeding them is frowned upon!
Today my good friend Dana had her baby! Kinsleigh Lynn was born this morning, healthy and was the same exact size as Hazel when she was born! We all went to see them in the hospital. This is me showing Ian Baby Kinsleigh. He was very interested in the baby. I am so excited for their family and for Hazel to have a new friend!
Today we had a big family celebration for all the May birthdays in the Lamoureux family! Actually, all the birthdays are this week! Jimmy's birthday is May 16, Ian's in May 18, Edith's is actually today, May 14, and Creigh's is the same as Ian's, May 18. This is a picture of all the birthday boys and girl!
Today we went to the Rangers game for Mother's Day. That was what my mom and I (the mothers of the group) wanted to do. It was so much fun! We watch Nelly Cruz hit a GRAND SLAM! It was awesome! The game was the last in a series against the Angels and it was the tie breaker to win the series! This picture was taken after the game was over with my baby girl on my first Mother's day with her (and my first Mother's day to not be pregnant!) We had lots of fun and the babies did great!
Today was the day I finally busted out my Christmas present and put it to good use! I got a sewing machine for Christmas and have yet to open it or use it for lack of time. I finally put it to good use and made Hazel a Texas Rangers onsie! For Mother's Day we are going to a Rangers game, and since this will be Hazel's first game I wanted her to be properly dressed! I put ruffles on the bum and sewed a T on the front! I am VERY new to sewing so I was very proud of this project!
Today we went out to eat at an authentic cuisine restaurant for our friend Brady's (from college) birthday...not sure what type of authentic food it was, but it was good. Hazel got passed around this table and the birthday boy ended up holding her. It was pretty funny to watch Brady hold her because he was so uncomfortable. We all got a good laugh!
Today we had a play-date/meeting with Leanne and her beautiful baby boy Wesley. Hazel and Wesley are around 3 weeks apart and as you can tell from the picture, already good friends. I hope Wesley and Hazel keep seeing each other as they grow up (partly so we can embarrass them with great pictures like this!
This is Ian's birthday party invitation! I think they are so cute! We are doing a construction themed party so I thought the dump truck was appropriate! The dumper part of the invitation lifts up (like its dumping its load) and the party info in on the inside! I made them myself because I could not find any invitations that I liked. We are so excited about his party!
We have been having some strange weather lately. It would be cool, then hot, then rainy and stormy, then warm and sunny. As a result we had the most beautiful, vibrant, FULL double rainbow I have ever seen. We all just stood outside and admired it until it started to fade! What a beautiful reminder of the amazingness of our God!
This was a low key Saturday because of all the sickness this past week. This picture Ian got into the box on his own. He loves boxes. We asked him if Hazel could get in the box with him. He didn't seem to mind and was holding on to her tight! It was super cute! He is really starting to interact with her more and want to help take care of her more too! I love it!
Hazel is really starting to feel better, but is still super cuddly...which I love. My tongue is still VERY swollen (I cant close my teeth) and I am unable to eat like anything...which makes it hard for Hazel to eat (poor girl!) This picture represents Jeff's life after 9pm since Hazel was born. She loves her daddy and Jeff has the magic touch to be able to get her to sleep! It's great, except I'm kinda bummed that she wont sleep on me! As you can tell, Jeff is very good at it!
Today was day four of the Lamoureux sick house! Ian is all better now, which is great! Bad news is that yesterday my tongue started swelling and I have a horrible raw spot on the side and I cannot eat anything! It is sooo miserable! If it doesn't start getting better soon, I am going to have to go to the doctor. I am sooo hungry! Hazel seems to be getting better! Her rash is now on her legs and arms and off of her tummy! The only fever that she has is one that's actually on the rash. I am so glad she is getting better. This picture is of Ian eating a snack with Elmo. He made me sit Elmo at the table and give him a few crackers. I guess Elmo wasn't hungry!
Today Miss Hazel was still pretty sick! I feel so bad for her! Now that Ian is all better I feel like I'm neglecting him to take care of her, but he has been really good and understanding. This is a picture of her passed out on the floor of the living room. I know she isn't feeling good because she normally NEVER does this. I'm not as concerned as I was because I can tell her rash is improving and starting to move down her body. I am hoping it moves down and out!
This week has been the week of sick so far! Ian woke up with a rash yesterday morning on his feet. mouth and chest. It seemed to be an allergic reaction to something...possibly the chocolate chip cookie he had at neighborhood group on Sunday (which had milk AND chocolate in it...bad mommy!) Today Hazel woke up with a rash all over her! She doesn't seem to be feverish and seems to be feeling ok. She isn't eating as much though. I've been googling things like crazy trying to figure out what is going on in this house! I think its viral...which means it just has to run its course and if we go to the doctor, he wont be able to do anything. Oh well! This picture is of Ian taking a BUBBLE bath in our tub! He was so excited! He would touch the bubbles and then wipe the bubbles off his hands...over and over! It was so funny!
Today we went over to the Belcher's house in the evening. We wanted to see their new house and talk about some church stuff. It was fun! We cooked out, the kids played and no actual church stuff happened. This picture is of all the boys sitting down at the table ready to eat. Can you tell they were hungry!?
Today was a pretty normal Sunday. Church, cleaning the house and then neighborhood group. We had a new family come to our group tonight! They were so much fun and have three great kids! I hope they continue to come and we didn't scare them off! Total we had like 10 kids running around the house tonight...and it was tons of fun! This picture was taken after everyone left and right before Ian went to bed! I love cuddling with my babies! I love this picture!
Today was such a fun day! My family came up and ran the Zoo Run 5k with us and our church group! This was the first 5k I had done in a really long time...I mean REALLY long (like high school). It wasn't fast, but I didn't stop and I finished! It was quite cold as well (like the coldest its been since February probably) I am pretty proud of myself! This picture is of the Lamoureux-Slaten crew that ran! After the race we headed downtown Fort Worth to the Mainstreet Arts Festival. It was a lot of fun, but very crowded! Jeff and I met up with some friends from college. Its always fun to see old friends!
Today is my favorite day....Friday! We had kind of a lazy day today. We took it easy because my knee was still a little sore from Tuesday and Jeff and I had our Zoo Run 5k tomorrow. Hazel also mysteriously ran a fever for a few hours today. It was her first fever so naturally I was very worried and I refused to put her down. I felt a little bad for Ian because I didn't pay as much attention to him because I was worried about Hazel. This picture is of Ian rocking in the rocking chair.
