Today I am feeling much better! I went to a get together with all the ladies I had prenatal yoga with and our babies! This is the second time we have got together and it is so much fun! The babies, from left to right are: Ashton, Fenton, Bria, Raydn, Hazel (mine!) and Sky! Aren't they just the most adorable little ones you have ever seen! It is super hard to get a good pictures with such little ones, but it is sure fun to try. My mother in law baby-sat Ian while I was gone and it was nice to get out of the house and have a little break! It is sad, though, that Fenton (and his mom and dad) and Sky (and his mom and dad) are moving away in the next week or so! We will miss them lots! :( This was our last get together before they both move! On a lighter note, Jeff grilled steaks and zucchini and cooked some beans and we had a WONDERFUL dinner together as a family! We had to celebrate the beautiful weather...76 in JANUARY?! Thank you God for the beautiful weather!
If anyone was wondering what our life is like on a daily basis...this is it...when it's calm! This is a picture of Jeff comforting Hazel, while working on the computer AND watching a TV show! He was getting mad at me because the camera was waking her up. I was not feeling that great today so I was lazy and let Ian watch too much TV and sat on the couch most of the day. When Jeff got home, he was really helpful and took over so I could rest. I ended up going to bed at 10:30! (That hasn't happened in a LOOOONG time!)
Today was a pretty busy day! It started with church, which we actually got to almost on time! Score one for Mommy and Daddy! Then Jeff insisted on mowing the "yard" (it's mainly weeds and dead grass) He says it makes him feel all grown up to mow the lawn. He also said that today's picture had better be of him mowing. Oh boy! I edited this picture to make sure you could actually see the grass/green weeds in the yard. Yup, its that sad! Ian and Hazel took a nap while Jeff mowed the yard. Then we went to a chili potluck at church and ate dinner with church friends! It was a lot of fun, but we were all super tired when we got home! I was actually really not feeling good and was running a fever so... early to bed!
Today was such a fun day! Not only did it start out great with everyone sleeping in, but my family came to see us! It seems like every time I talk to my family, I always ask them when they are going to come and visit! I miss them and I want to make sure they get to see as much of Ian and Hazel as possible! Ian got so spoiled today and he loved it! My mom brought him some cool board books a collection of fun, children's songs! He loves the books and I cannot wait to use the songs to sing and play with him! We went out to eat at Braum's for lunch. While everyone else ate ice cream, Ian and I split a cup of lime sherbert! That was fun! We then came back home and Ian played with blocks and books with Grandpa (or Gpa is what I like to call him), Legos with Gigi, and bowling with Aunt Vickie (did you catch the Parent Trap reference?) Hazel slept for most of the day. Yup, no more hourly feedings. I guess her growth spurt passed! After Ian's nap was officially skipped and everyone was getting hungry for dinner, we decided to try out the brand new Applebee's in Saginaw. It got our approval! Yum! This picture was taken at Applebee's. Ian got to sit in between Gigi and Gpa and that was so much fun! He had a blast wiggling and driving my dad crazy! (that's what you get for ordering BBQ ribs with a toddler in your lap!) There was a baby about Hazel's size in the booth behind us. It was so weird...they looked alike! I went over to the mom and talked with her and she noticed it too! The little girl was 7 weeks old (just a week older than Hazel) and her name was Jacie. She was so cute! They had an older daughter about the age of Ian. It was cool to talk to them and it was totally weird that our babies looked so much alike! She had just as much hair as Hazel did!
Today is Friday! I LOVE Fridays! Hazel kept up with her feeding every hour, but finally passed out for a nice long nap while Ian took his nap! I was very excited for a break! They both woke up in a great mood after Jeff got home! This is a picture of both of them on the floor of the living room. I had just changed Hazel's diaper and Ian came up and laid next to her! It was so sweet! Ian seemed pretty proud of little sister! It is going to be so much fun to see them interact as they get older! I pray they get along and are the best of friends! (The best siblings can be!)
Today was day two of Hazel eating every hour, but it has been a much less stressful day! She did actually take an afternoon nap today which let me get a little bit of a break, thank God! This picture was taken when I put Ian down for a nap. For the past couple of days I have had to put Elmo down for a nap with Ian. As you can probably see, Elmo is cuddling Pooh Bear while Ian has Tigger. I also have to tuck them both in. This is so cute I had to take a picture of it! This is totally going to be one of those pictures he is going to HATE when he becomes a teenager....I am soooo excited!
If you cannot tell from my picture, today was a pretty rough day for Mommy! This picture was taken during one of the few times Hazel was not crying. Ian had left his blocks out and I grabbed the blocks to spell "help me" as a joke to lighten the mood (its been a rough evening). Jeff thought it was so funny and grabbed the camera. He told me to give him "a look" and I kept cracking up. It was one of the moments of joy that we desperately needed this evening. I want to make it clear that I LOVE both of my children more than I can express, but the reality is that sometimes it's hard, sometimes it sucks and sometimes you have to step back and take a break. The good thing is that Ian was in a pretty good mood. Hazel, on the other hand, had a pretty rough day. She has fed every hour since 11AM. She has also been pretty fussy all day too. I really think that something I am eating is bothering her stomach. She has been spitting up and crying more. I feel so bad for her and just want to make it better. I have slowly started cutting dairy out of my diet because it seems to be one of the things that really bothers her tummy and her skin (slowly because its been hard for me to eliminate it all at once) So hopefully this will help her feel better and be a happier baby!
